Testimonials from Students in the 2007 Inaugural PHF Youth Theatre Program

“The most important thing I learned is to give it all you’ve got all the time.”

“I feel that I have learned a lot from the program and will take it with me as I pursue theatre in high school and after that. I have learned about performing and all the things that go with it, including discipline, focus, and determination.”

“I had an amazing experience with the PHF Youth Theatre Program. I made friends, I learned buckets full, and I especially had fun. It was the greatest camp I have ever taken.”

“Your program has been the best thing that has ever happened to me. I met new people, I am more confident in myself, my posture is even starting to get better! This program didn’t just teach me how to sing and dance, but about myself. I used to be really shy but now I am not afraid to sing in front of a crowd. I never wanted it to end!”

“When I compare this program to other arts programs I have participated in, it was much more organized and professional.”

“I have never had an experience like this before. It made me even more passionate about theater and the life of Broadway. You’ve totally made a change of my abilities to dance, sing and act. I am very happy I sacrificed six weeks of my summer for this great education of theater. The people that I invited to the show were blown away. They said they had never seen a performance so amazing in a long time.”

Testimonials from Parents of Students in the 2007 Inaugural PHF Youth Theatre Program

“What a wonderful program, from start to finish! This was one of the best experiences of our daughter’s life! Thank you so much!
We saw a growth in her that was absolutely wonderful! She gained more confidence in herself, learned to enjoy the hard work and see her efforts pay off. She learned a whole new appreciation for focus and discipline and developed some wonderful friendships. This program was more demanding than others but it was also more rewarding. It showed in the final product! All our family and friends were very surprised at how “professional” the production was. We wholeheartedly recommend the PHF program to all our family and friends in the future. The experience can be life-changing for all the children involved!”

“This program effected my child positively way in so many ways . He was given a rich tapestry of experiences each and everyday which he joyfully came home and couldn’t wait tell us about each evening. The instructors were excellent, his singing and dancing skills increased a great deal in what seemed a short period of time. At home he danced in the kitchen, taught his little sister the numbers in the living room and sang himself to sleep each night. And he began to sing as soon as he awoke in the morning, we were all living on a Broadway Stage this summer and we didn’t even have to leave the house!

We felt he had a great community of peers at the program, as well, which was also uplifting for him. And the experience of the performance, in itself, was astounding. The inspiration he gained due to his realization of the community support, not only from the audiences, but more importantly from the Patricia Henley Foundation itself I feel is something he will carry with him for life. I read him the background information on the Foundation and we discussed it and he came away from this beautiful Theatre of Life for Children knowing what is important in this life, that the choices we make ourselves as individuals are our community, our world and our future.”
